Bert De Jonghe

My background

In 2002, I began my career as an inspector with the Belgian Federal Police, where I soon moved on to work as an investigator with the Brussels Federal Judicial Police. In this role, I developed a versatile skill set: from drafting reports and managing large-scale investigation files to supporting victims, suspects, and witnesses. I also learned to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life.

My work brought me into contact with police services within and outside the EU, which led to valuable international collaborations and participation in numerous police and judicial missions abroad.

Thanks to my drive and expertise, I rose to the position of chief inspector and judicial police officer. In this role, I coordinated teams, provided operational briefings, and led large-scale judicial police operations.

Switch to the European Institutions

After my time in the police, I moved to the security services of the European institutions. For 15 years, I honed my skills in a complex international and diplomatic context. I expanded my expertise in investigating various crimes, resolving security incidents, addressing leaks of sensitive information, and drafting comprehensive reports.

My mission at Watson

With my background in law enforcement and experience in a diplomatic, international environment, I support organizations in strengthening their internal investigative capabilities. I design practical training programs that teach companies how to conduct investigations in a structured, efficient manner, similar to how police services conduct them. This approach not only increases effectiveness in resolving internal issues but also reduces the risk of legal complications, ultimately leading to cost savings.
